Corrugation is a surface enhancement formed on the diameter of metal tubing. Due to increased surface area, and turbulence created inside the tube, the heat exchange coefficient is drastically increased.
These enhanced tubes are used in a multitude of commercial and industrial applications. These applications include,
but are not limited to: Surface Condensers, Steam Turbine Condensers, Refrigeration Applications,
Water Chillers, and Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers.
This product can be manufactured to any profile design. The pitch and depth of the corrugation is endlessly customizable based on the requirements of your application. Typically, these tubes are designed with a bare (un-corrugated) portion at each end, for acceptance into a tubesheet or other apparatus. Tubes can also be designed with a series of bare areas (lands)
along the tube body. Diameter range: 1/8" - 1-1/2" O.D.
In addition to corrugating tubes, Felton machine also has the capability to Swage the tube ends, and to pressure check the finished product (air underwater method) up to 20 feet long to ensure no leaks or cracks
