Why Choose Corrugated Tubing?
Higher Heat Transfer Efficiency
The ridges inside the tube create increased turbulance - breaking the insulating layer of fluid that forms naturally against the tube wall.
> Higher coefficient of heat transfer.
> More heat exchange in the same tube length.
> Smaller heat exchangers with the same results.
Reduced Fouling
The increased turbulance helps prevent deposits from settling on the tube walls.
> Unit can run longer without cleaning
> Performance remains consistent over time
> Less frequent re-tubing required.
Why Choose Felton Machine?
Experience
Felton Machine has been producing corrugated tubing, in a variety of metals, since the 1990s. Through the decades, we have performed this task by various methods. We have a long track record in a variety of industries, and have narrowed down our methods to the most conistant and cost effect means on the market.
Proven Geometry
For nearly 20 years, a product known as CorroDense, a product of Wolverine Tubing, was the gold standard in corrugated tubing. In the early 2000s, Felton Machine acquired the "only one of it's kind" production line that produced CorroDense from Wolverine, as well as access to their specification recommendations. We are still able to replicate their exact geometry, as well as offer custom specifications per your application.
One Step Further
In rare instances, the "Outer Diameter" (O.D.) and Roundness tolerances offered in readily available products, like those designed to compete with CorroDense, do not meet the requirements for a particular application. We have built our own, proprietary, corrugating machine that reduces the 'bubbling' inherent in the forming process, and can maintain a more constant size and shape.
This mechanism also allows the pitch specification on your corrugated tube to be infinitely customizable, as may be required by your application.
What we offer
Felton Machine Company produces corrugated tubing in a variety of materials!
Including, but not limited to
Stainless Steel
Copper
CuproNickel (CuNi)
Brass
Aluminum
We can corrugate tubes from 1/4" OD up to 1-1/2" OD in a variety of wall thicknesses.
The pitch of the corrugations is infinitely customizable.
We can readily corrugate tubes up to 40' feet in length, and can work with longer tubes in some special cases.
Additional Services
Cut-off and Deburr
We will cut the finished tube to length, leaving whatever length of bare end required for your tubesheet or
mating apperatus. All cut ends will be fully deburred.
Testing
We offer "air under water" pressure testing of tubes up to 20' in overall length.
This will verify that there are no leaks in the tubing.
Lands
Some suppliers may benefit from uncorrugated bare sections along the tube body. This option is not commonly offered in the industry, but can be accomplished with minimal added cost on our proprietary machine.
Need a suggestion?
Based on the preferred tube Material, OD, and Wall Thickness of your application,
we can recommend a target pitch and depth. However, both remain fully customizable
at your discretion.
